US Vision is seeking an Intermediate Staff Accountant to join our team!

The Intermediate Staff Accountant is responsible for applying general accounting principles, procedures and experience to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures for assigned group. The primary focus will be fixed assets general ledger system accounting, as well as a self-directed role responsible for assigned group of accounts which could include: Receivables, Fixed Assets, Debt & Investments, Inventory and Cost of Goods Sold, Accrued Expenses, Prepaids, Deferrals, Intangibles, as well as the related Financial Reporting, Cost Accounting, Compliance, comparisons against budgets, audit schedules and support and general accounting for these accounts. Also has responsibility for financial database processes and procedures, and responsibility for sales and financial database maintenance and management. This position also requires general accounting responsibilities including journal entries, intercompany transactions, account reconciliations and accruals.

Intermediate Staff Accountants are to serve as subject matter experts for assigned group, and are expected to generate and maintain Procedure Manuals to be used as training guides for other staff. This position will work independently with limited day-to-day direct supervision required.


  • Compile and analyze financial information to perform month-end closing of the various companies, to facilitate preparation of monthly financial statements including month-to-date and YTD account analysis for reasonableness, accuracy, and comparison to prior year actuals and current year budget
  • Ensure that all financial records related to subject area is maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Monitor, manage and problem solve to improve performance within the accounting process. Will be required to troubleshoot and provide coaching for Junior and Staff Accountants.
  • Prepare year-end forms for the IRS including W-2 worksheets and control totals
  • Run and reconcile monthly aging reports within sub-ledgers when applicable
  • Reconcile and manage all general ledger balance sheet and income statement accounts assigned, compile explanatory support documentation to respond to management review and audit requests and testing
  • Works with others in the department to maintain an accurate General Ledger
  • Prepares various ad hoc reports as requested by senior management


  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business administration or related field.
  • Have at least three years’ experience working in accounting and finance.
  • Three  (3) years’ experience working on a focused area of accounting such as fixed asset, tax, budget, or financial reporting.
  • Excellent work habits including willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done.
  • Be detail oriented and have a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting
  • Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including v-lookups, macros, PivotTables etc.
  • Have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook. Access knowledge a plus
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal
  • Must have strong demonstrable knowledge of finance, accounting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Previous work experience using an ERP system such as Oracle, SAP or Microsoft Dynamics, preferred
